About Me

Hi! I’m Angelina 😃

I’m a native New Yorker from the Boogie Down Bronx who became obsessed with baking cakes in the early 2000s after seeing extreme cake wars on TV. As a child, I remember baking with my mom and aunt making pies and cheesecakes every Thanksgiving. Since then, I’ve spent almost two decades (and counting) baking up a storm in the kitchen.

My sweet tooth steered me to study Baking & Pastry Arts graduating from the hospitality program at CUNY City Tech in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to baking, my background also includes a Business Degree from CUNY Baruch College, working in event planning and catering. I’ve worked in fun places like Disney, Cookie Party, FAO Schwarz on Fifth Ave, Francois Payard Patisserie at the Plaza Hotel, NYC Food & Wine, and Aramark.

The Sweet Bakerlina blog was created to inspire those with not only a passion for baking but in potentially start their path in the food industry. I’m excited to share the baking basics I’ve learned along the way, and combined with your creativity, I know you’ll become an amazing baker! I’ll also share my experiences having a home cottage cakery in Central Florida, Angie’s Fairies Cakes & Parties, LLC., and the business/work aspects I’ve learned along the way.

I’m a dessert huntress and will also share other dessert spots I visited throughout my travels in various cities.

I hope you enjoy reading about my journey in exploring my multi-passionate personality through sweets, events, food travel, and business. Thank you for visiting my blog!!!

Other Facts:

  • I’m a Nuyorican 🇵🇷 Considered “La Gringa Latina” in my family
  • My favorite dessert is any custard like flan, creme brulee, or cream puffs
  • You’ll catch me every week drinking Fruit Boba Tea
  • I have a small collection of fairies (hence the logo)

Sincerely,

From the person who looks at the dessert menu first 😉
